Junior High Retreat

This event is an invitation for youth in grades 6-8 to explore the identity they have been given through their faith by walking teens through the Lord’s Prayer, which assures us we have been given the title of heirs—adopted into God’s kingdom and claimed as his own.

This 300-page zine contains ten chapters of art, scripture, grounding theological truth, and processing space:

  • Prayers Up!
  • Adopted.
  • Heirs.
  • Whose Will?
  • Fitted Out!
  • Forgiven.
  • Defined.
  • Belonging.
  • Claimed.
  • Known.

We plan to offer a chance to get loose, be free, pause, and doodle your thoughts and feelings along the way.

This event also includes the popular PEEPS OLYMPICS … that’s right, we’ve got an obstacle course, ball toss, javelin throw, and dodgeball — all played with those sugary Easter treats! And no junior high event would be the same with a TALENT SHOW (“Talent show, talent show, I love me a talent show!”).

What is it like for high school youth to serve on staff?
High School students can choose from several available staff positions depending on their interest. We need young people to serve as family group leaders, kitchen staff, photographers, gophers, and musicians. Regardless of your position, all participants get a copy of the Teen ‘Zine and can explore their faith along with the Junior High youth. AND you get to make-up the Peeps Olympics games!
